About Seth Daley
— I tried my first yoga class at a local gym in Amherst Nova Scotia back in 1999. After three months of seemingly brutal classes, I was in the best shape of my life and was hooked. By 2000 I was teaching Ashtanga Yoga classes at that same gym in Amherst, and at nearby Mount Allison University. I continued teaching part time when I moved to Halifax to attend massage therapy school, and after graduation, I set up a massage practice at the former Yoga Loft and began to expand my teaching schedule. Over the next 5 years, I slowly switched from massage to teaching yoga full-time, and established the only traditional daily Mysore program east of Montréal. After my time at the Yoga loft came to an end, I opened Halifax's first large-scale Ashtanga studio, the Ashtanga Yoga Shala. I taught classes at the Shala and maintained the mysore program there until 2014 when the time came to close down. Since that time the Mysore classes have moved around with me, finally settling in their new home at Dalplex. While continuing to teach Mysore classes I am currently working on my PhD in biomechanics.
I have participated in several thousand hours of Yoga Teacher Training programs, including completing level two YTT with my principle Ashtanga teacher, John Scott, in New Zealand. Most recently I have been training with master teacher Hart Lazer in Montreal, studying the art of advanced yoga therapeutics. I have also been blessed to have worked with and taken training programs from teachers like Ramanand Patel, Chuck Miller, Mark & Joanne Darby, David Keil, Swami Nityamuktananda Saraswati, David Swenson, and Tim Miller. |
