What is Mysore?
Named after the city in India where Ashtanga yoga first rose to world-wide popularity the mysore-style has come to denote a method of teaching where the students and teacher work one-on-one rather than in a large fitness-style group setting. While this limits the number of students that can be accommodated each morning, Seth believes that it is the ideal method for learning and developing the practice of yoga. Students arrive at various points during each weekday morning, and stay as long as they have time/energy for. With this kind of flexibility the teacher can help shape each days practice to fit the energy level of the student and keep things both challenging and not overwhelming. Seth has been teaching the only daily mysore practice in the Maritimes for more than 20 years and is looking forward to the next 20.
With Seth's extensive training in both Ashtanga yoga and therapeutic yoga, anyone can take advantage of this traditional style of class, from students wanting to start off their yoga journey with a solid understanding of the basics, to advanced students ready to learn more than they can in classes available at local studios. Students recovering from injury also find the mysore-style of practice ideal, as they can work at their own pace on a practice designed for them specifically to help promote recovery. |

The time for a Mysore-style class is the range of time that you can fit your practice into. . This flexibility of time helps make the practice accessible to many more students than a set class time can be. |
Each session of Mysore runs for 3 months and has a fee of $300 for Dalhousie students, $350 for Dalplex members, or $400 for non-members. Students who sign up can attend as many of the mysore classes as they are able to during that session and get access to the Dalplex facilities (shower, pool, sauna, weight room) after their class.

The next Mysore session will run from January 8th until April 6th.
